My name is Tibor Juhasz, I was born and raised in Szekszárd. As a member of a winemaker family, I have spent a lot of time on the estate during my childhood, as a kid I took part in the work from the harvest till the bottling.

As a twenty-year old I wanted to get to know the world a bit better, thus my journey led to Australia’s, then South America´s wine regions. Everywhere I went, family-led craft wineries got my attention. It was without a question the kind of winery I would like to establish once I get back home to Szekszárd.

The Pastor Garage Winery produces its single vineyard wines from three hectares. The vineyards are situated in the following sites: Görögszó (Merlot, Cabernet franc), Előhegy (Cabernet sauvignon, Kadarka) and Leányvár (Kékfrankos). My aim is to highlight the diversity of the Szekszárd Wine Region with special emphasis put on the plant, the environment protection and the usage of the right yield restriction. I believe that quality is made in the vineyard first, with the right grape varieties on the right terroir, as well as the given vintage will all influence the outcome. The winemaker´s job is to preserve the symbiosis and coordinate the natural process. All of the red wines ferment spontaneously and also the malolactic conversion goes through naturally. With premium Hungarian, French and Spanish wood barrel maturation the aim is to strive for harmony in the wines.

It’s a pleasure to welcome those, who are interested in the Pastor wines and would like to participate at a pleasant wine tasting in Szekszárd. Tastings are available for up to 30 people in our wine tasting room.

’Selection’ wine tasting (15.000 HUF / person): tasting of 7 wines and with a 3-course wine dinner. (When booking a minimum of 8 people.)
