Our Story

I grew up at Présház street in Szekszárd. Like every little child, who has relatives working with wine, I spent every weekend in the vineyards. I picked up the branches, wanted to sit on the tractor and even if I only picked three clusters of grapes during the harvest, I was happy, that I could be there with the adults.

Soon everything became too small to me, and I wanted to see the world. I ended up in London and after a few turns I got work in a wine bar. Working as a part of an international team as a wine waiter and extending my knowledge on wine. The wine and the work with different nationalities tightened the friendship. We shared our knowledge and wisdom, visited each other's regions and countries. This is how I travelled to Australia, South America, visited many different wine regions and places throughout countries and continents. No matter where I went, I was tempted to see the family and artisanal wineries. I was never interested in big production places, where high-tech technology was the most important thing.

Far from my home I realized, that this harmony, that I experienced abroad, can be found in the wines of Szekszárd as well, so I came back to my roots to find it. I would like to share the fiery, passion full yet bright, pure and honest wines with my customers, show the true traditions of Szekszárd with a youthful vibrancy of crafted natural wines.

Our vineyards can be found at Előhegy (Cabernet Sauvignon), at Görögszó (Merlot, Cabernet Franc), at the top of the Benedek mountain (Cabernet Franc), at Leányvár (Olaszrizling) and at Sauli valley (Kékfrankos). Our aim is to show the diversity of the wine region of Szekszárd, we try to achieve this with the help of the whole family, by handling the fruit from different vineyards separately and maintaining strict yield control over the vines.

Olaszrizling 2016

The Olaszrizling is the most planted white variety in Hungary. The crop was harvested between Szekszárd and Sióagárd, from the vineyards of Leányvár. Thanks to the technology we could preserve the very fruity and fresh style of the wine. While the wine region achieved its fame through red wines, it´s worth to pay attention to this Olaszrizling as well, because it shares all the positive attributes of the variety.

Tasting note:
Pale lemon colour with tropical fruit notes and fragrant herbal touch on the nose. Dry with fresh acidity, well-balanced wine with medium body and ripe fruitiness. Harmonious wine, that remains vibrant throughout the finish.

Pairing recommendations: on its own, as an aperitif or to accompany lighter dishes.

Dry white wine
Alcohol: 12% vol.

Rosé 2016

Made of 100% Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), which is the most planted and possibly also the most important variety of Szekszárd. We harvested it slightly earlier and it spent only a few hours on the skin. This delivers a seductive, fresh nose to the wine with bright and clear peach flower colour and fresh acidity.

Tasting note:
Medium deep, between salmon and onion skin colour. Very intense on the nose, full of raspberry and strawberry notes, very pronounced indeed. Dry with a fine creamy texture at the beginning, although it remains fresh all the way, this provides the character and the backbone to the wine. Raspberry, mulberry and crisp cherry flavours are dominating the palate. Very fine and round with long finish.

Pairing recommendations: excellent on its own, yet good mixed with sparkling water (fröccs), but also fine with salads, lighter fish and other dishes, but good to match with noodle dishes as well.

Dry rosé wine
Alcohol: 12% vol.

Siller 2016

The Siller is a true classic, it´s not a rosé wine anymore, but still not a red wine. The Siller wines relive their renaissance in Hungary and share probably the same success story as the rosé. This Siller was made from the blend of Kadarka and Kékfrankos, combines the freshness and fruitiness of the rosé wines with a touch of red wine “feeling” as well. The deep "red" colour is gained from the two days skin contact.

Tasting note:
Clean, bright pink colour with a very intensive and pronounced nose, full of strawberry notes, truly rich and deep on the nose. The palate brings back the aromas of the nose. Besides the fresh style, there is plenty of fruit in the wine, like mulberry, raspberry and very rich sour cherry with a creamy and ripe texture.

Pairing recommendations: on its own, besides light dishes or pasta, goes well with fruity dishes, such as fruit soup, compote or even lighter poultry dishes.

Dry Siller wine
Alcohol: 12% vol.

Estate cuvée 2013

The estate wine is made from the harvest of different vineyard sites. The main aim was to combine the fresh fruity style with the spicy notes. It rightfully carries the name of the estate wine, this is a wine for everyday's, easy to drink anywhere and anytime. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks to protect the fruitiness of the wine and after a short period of aging it is bottled.

Tasting note:
Medium deep ruby colour, full of sour cherry and blackberry notes on the nose, followed by a hint of spice and mint. Velvet tannin texture with the combination of freshness and a touch of mint and bitter chocolate.

Pairing recommendations: excellently match with white and red meat as well, heavier noodle dishes, but also perfect to have it for friendly get-togethers.

Dry red wine
Alcohol: 12,5% vol.

Kadarka 2013

The Kadarka is one of the most important grape varieties of the wine region. Traditionally low-trained, here the clusters are closer to the ground and with the energy of the soil it ripens better. Vinified in wooden vats and punched down by hand like in the XVI. century. The wine was bottled after 12 months of maturation in big oak barrels.

Tasting note:
Medium deep ruby colour with red pepper and bell pepper notes, also there is a hint of black pepper besides the capsicum, underlined by some fine fruit character of mulberry and fresh plum. Velvet texture on the palate with soft tannins, well-balanced wine with fresh acidity. Red fruit dominates at the finish.

Pairing recommendations: besides traditional Hungarian cuisine (spicy, paprika dishes), but could be an excellent match to fish soup or classical cabbage dishes as well.

Dry red wine

Kékfrankos 2013

Kékfrankos is the leading variety in Szekszárd, the most planted and for many people the most important one as well. We harvested our crop from the oldest vines of the Sauli valley. The old vines regulate their yield automatically, therefore they produce lower yields and more concentrated wines. It was fermented in stainless steel, under temperature control and after that aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

Tasting note:
Medium ruby colour with crisp cherry and raspberry notes on the nose, followed by a touch of spicy and herbal quality. Plum is dominating on the palate completed by a touch of smoke sour cherry, velvet tannin structure and a fine finish.

Pairing recommendations: mainly besides meat dishes, but it could also a great match to the so called, classical Hungarian dishes.

Bikavér 2013

Deep ruby colour. Rich black fruit on the nose, blueberry, blackberry and delicate bell pepper spiciness followed by some dark chocolate in the background. Highlighting elagance and warmth. Rich on the palate as well, deep fruit concentration followed by some spiciness. Kékfrankos is providing the base with its distinctive character, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with their respective depth and tannin concentration and Kadarka contributing the elegance and some perfume. Full bodied and pronounced yet seductive and delightful. Touch of bell pepper and crunchy berry fruit towards the finish, velvet long finish. True Bikavér of Szekszárd.

Pairing recommendations: excellent by itself, red meat, grilled dishes and game. Due to the richness and weight "Hungarian dishes (paprika, spicy) and the mentioned red meat an excellent choice.

Dry red wine
Alcohol: 14% vol.

Medito 2013

One of the main blends - Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - of the winery. Versatile wine, which can be served in each and every situation, besides friendly get-togethers or serious discussions with an partner. It shares the typicity of Szekszárd with a touch of international style, a true "cosmopolitan". Everyone finds joy in this red wine.

Tasting note:
Deep ruby colour. Ripe blackberry notes on the nose with a mixture of cranberry, sour cherry and blueberry. Velvet, yet still robust and very pleasant, indeed on the tannins with full body and pronounced flavours. Rich and complex on the finish, almost never ending wine.

Pairing recommendations: very versatile wine, so we recommend it besides a wide selection of different foods. Great match to spicy or lighter paprika dishes and game as well. However it´s also a great idea to experiment with it, since it could be a great pair to many different dishes.

Dry red wine
Alcohol: 14% vol.

Cabernet Franc 2013

Harvested from the top of the Benedek mountain, that is one of our vineyards with the longest ripening period. The wine was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels and was bottled thereafter.

Tasting note:
Deep ruby colour, full of blackberry notes in combination with some mint and graphite. Rich and ripe aromas on the palate, blackcurrant, sour cherry, plum and rich spicy aromatics, underlined by some tobacco leaf and red pepper. Harmonious and long finish.

Pairing recommendations: could be a great match with spicy dishes, grilled meats.

Dry red wine
Alcohol: 14% vol.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

The best site for Cabernet Sauvignon can be found at the foot hills of Előhegy. Like with any other wines, here as well, we do hand harvest. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is matured for 18 months in small French oak barrels.

Tasting note:
Deep ruby colour. Rich on the nose, mint, eucalyptus and blackberry notes with a mixture of spiciness. Very pronounced aromatics, followed by a hint of bitter chocolate. Deep flavours and full body on the palate, rich black fruit aromas with elegant spice notes, great expression. Long finish with a serious, but ripe tannin structure.

Pairing recommendations: blue cheese, but even a good company to less sweet desserts or a fine match to game and other wild dishes, even matured meat as well.

Dry red wine
Alcohol: 14% vol.

Merlot 2012

The excellent crop was harvested from our vines in the Sauli vineyard site. The wine was matured for 18 months in 225 litre French oak barrels.
